NM MAG.jpg

2019 Winner

My Photo “Cassie’s Storm” took 2nd place in the New Mexico Magazine’s 2019 Best Photos of the Year in the Category “New Mexico Experience.”

The Photo is on display for all of 2019 at the Tularosa Basin Gallery located in Carrizozo, NM.

I knew when I was taking the photo it was going to be amazing but it wasn’t until I got home and started editing until I realized how stunning Cassie and the horse were against the threatening background of the incoming storm. Capturing photos like this are the reason I love what I do: the detail of the mottling on the horse’s nose, the contrast of the horse and the sky but most of all the way the way Cassie is starting so deep into the camera you can almost feel it.

WInner 2015

My photo “Hoof Impressions” won the Albuquerque Free Press 2015 Photo of the Year.

The photo was featured in the News Paper as well as displayed in a limited showing in a Downtown Albuquerque Cafe.

I took this photo from horse back when I was crossing a dry river bed. I just loved the way the horses’s hoof shattered through the already dried mud. The cracks of the mud look so deep and dramatic and yet the horse gives a sense of roundedness to the entire shot.
